ESSAY PAPER (UPSC MAINS-2020)

 UPSC MAINS ESSAY PAPER has recently been conducted by UPSC. the question paper is a unconventional with lot of question coming from  ETHICS and PHILOSOPHY. There is one question from women(PATRIARCHY)  as regular and one question from economics(GDP VS DEVELOPMENT DEBATE). some question are very tough like CULTURE AND CIVILISATION question and MINDFUL MANIFESTO. Have a look at question paper;-


SECTION A

1. Life is a long journey between human being and being humane.

2. Mindful manifesto is the catalyst to a tranquil self.

3. Ships do not sink because of water around them, ships sink because of water that gets into them.

4. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

SECTION B

1.Culture is what we are, civilisation is what we have.

2. There can be no social justice without economic prosperity but economic prosperity without social justice is meaningless.

3. Patriarchy is the least noticed yet the most significant structure of social inequality.

4. Technology as the silent factor in international relations.

LANGUAGE PAPERS(MAINS EXAMINATION)

QUALIFYING PAPER OF INDIAN LANGUAGE AND ENGLISH The aim of the paper is to test the candidates ability to read and understand serious discursive prose, and to express his ideas clearly,in English and Indian language concerned. The pattern of question would be broadly as follow: Comprehension of given passages. Precis writing. Usage and vocabulary. Short essay. INDIAN LANGUAGE:-- Comprehension of given passage. Precis writing. Usage and vocabulary. Short essays. Translation from English to the Indian language and vice-versa. Note-1:  The papers on Indian languages and English will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard and will be of qualifying nature only. The marks obtained in these papers will not be counted for ranking.
