PAPER-1   (200 marks)                     DURATION TWO HOURS

  1. Current events of national and international importance
  2. History of Indian National Movement
  3. Indian and WORLD Geography-Physical,Social,Economic Geography of Indian the World
  4. Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj,Public Policy,Right Issues etc
  5. Economic and Social Development,Poverty,Inclusion,Demographic,Social Sector Initiatives etc
  6. General issues on Environment ecology,Biodiversity and Climate Change- that do not require subjective specialization
  7. General Science

PAPER-2                                                                                DURATION TWO HOURS

  1. Comprehension
  2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  3. Logical Reasoning and Analytical ability
  4. Decision making and Problem Solving
  5. General mental ability
  6. Basic numeracy(numbers and their relations,orders of magnitude,etc) (class 10 level),Data interpretation(chart,graph,tables,data sufficiency etc---class 10 level).

NOTE 1; Paper 2 of Civil service (preliminary) exam will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.

NOTE 2; The question will be of multiple choice, objective type.

NOTE 3; It is mandatory for the  candidate to appear in both the papers of civil service (prelims) exam for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore a candidate will be disqualified in case he/she does not appear in  the papers of Civil service(prelims) Exam.

BANKING REGULATION (AMANDEMENT) ACT,2020

 The Banking Regulation Act has been amended by the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2020. The key changes in the regulatory regime of UCBs pursuant to the Banking Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2020 are as under:  • The Reserve Bank has been given powers over the management of the UCBs, owing to which it can issue directions relating to the management of UCBs including approval for appointment of Chairman / MD / CEO, removal and remuneration of MD / CEO. Further, the Board of UCBs would be required to have not less than 51 per cent members having special knowledge / practical experience in specified areas.  • The statutory restriction on grant of director-related loans/ advances has been widened and common directorship across banks shall be prohibited as per the provisions of the amended Act.  • The Reserve Bank has been vested with powers of approval of the appointment / removal of statutory auditors of UCBs.   • Provisions of the revised Act will enable UCBs to raise capital by i
